Welcome!
I started this blog about a month before I moved to Japan. I've always loved writing, and I wanted a place where I could record my stories and experiences of what it's like living abroad.

More About Me
My home base was Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. It's a small, isolated, northern Canadian town that I moved to when I was eleven. I lived there for over a decade, and although I loved it, it was time for a change.
I found out that I was moving to Japan in early April of 2024. After graduating university, I had applied to the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme. I was absolutely thrilled when I got the announcement that I had been accepted to the program! Almost a year of waiting for an answer turned into about four months of preparations to move abroad. After many stressful days and a tearful goodbye to Canada, I arrived in Japan in August, 2024.
It has been an absolute whirlwind acclimating to life in a completely different country. It has its ups and downs, and its one of the biggest challenges I've faced in my life up to this point.
When I first started this blog, I wanted to focus mostly on my travels around Japan. Now that I'm here and I've had some time to settle in, I'd like to challenge myself to be a bit more personable through my writing. I want to share more of my everyday life here in Japan.
